(I've made exceptions to this in the past, but it becomes difficult with travel distance and jurisdictions that I'm not familiar with. If it's outside my "zone", reach out anyway. I may still be able to refer you to someone who can better help).
Background
-Grew up in Mt. Pleasant. Went to James B. Edwards Elementary, Moultrie Middle, and Wando High School
-Graduated Bachelor Science Civil Engineering from Clemson University 2002
-Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in SC, NC, and GA
-Licensed Residential Building Inspector (RBI) in SC (non-practicing)
I’ve spent over a decade in civil/site design engineering with some stops along the way as a home inspector, forensics engineer (property loss), and even spent some time working in the lumber yard. These different stops, gave me valuable insight into building construction from different perspectives. In 2017, I was given an opportunity to change paths and pursue what I believe is my calling of structural engineering and design. I have a passion to help contractors, architects, and homeowners put together structural plans for home renovations or new construction projects. When emailing, please provide a detailed description of what’s needed. The following list will assist in what information to provide:
- What do you need? (structural consultation for new construction, renovation, deficiencies in your house typically accompanied by an engineering letter/report; structural plans to accompany architectural plans; thinking of renovating my/building a new house, but don’t know where to start; etc.)
- What is the address of the project site (or future address)?
- Do you have existing plans or architectural plans you can provide (or even photos or hand sketches)?
- Are you currently working with a general contractor (GC) or architect for your desired project or need a recommendation?
- What is the timeline on the project? A lot of times this is dictated by my schedule or how far along you’ve gotten in the design process. For instance, if you’re building a new house or doing extensive renovations to your existing house, you will need architectural plans and the start date of my plans will not begin until their basic conceptual plans have been completed.
